How to use
- Choose whether to include audio and pick a frame rate.
- Press Start and choose what to share — a whole screen, one window, or a browser tab.

- Press Stop, watch the result back, and download it if you are happy.
About this tool
ShowHide
Capture a screen, a single window or one browser tab, with or without audio, and save the result as a video file. The recording is made by your browser and held on your device — there is no account, no upload, and no watermark, which is the difference between this and most free screen recorders. Choose 15, 30 or 60 frames per second before you start; higher is smoother for moving content and larger on disk. While recording you get a live preview and a running timer, and you can stop from the button here or from the browser's own sharing control. When you stop, the video appears with normal playback controls so you can check it before downloading. Output is WebM, which every modern browser plays and most editors accept.
Frequently asked questions
Is my recording uploaded anywhere?
No. The video is captured and assembled inside your browser tab and kept in memory on your device until you download or discard it. Nothing is sent to a server.
Why is there no sound in my recording?
Audio capture depends on what you share and which browser you use. Chrome and Edge can capture audio from a browser tab and often from a whole screen on Windows; sharing a single application window usually cannot carry audio, and macOS restricts system audio capture. If sound matters, share a tab and tick the audio option.
Which browsers can do this?
Recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox and desktop Safari support screen capture. It is not available on iOS, and support on Android browsers is limited — on phones, use the recorder built into the operating system.
Can I record for a long time?
The video is held in memory until you save it, so a very long recording will use a lot of it and may hit a limit on a modest machine. For anything beyond a few minutes, record in segments and stitch them afterwards.
What format do I get, and can I convert it?
WebM, which plays in every modern browser and imports into most editors. If you need MP4, run the file through a converter or re-encode it in your editor.
