About this tool
ShowHide
Add two or more pictures and choose how to join them. Side by side scales every picture to the same height and lines them up in a row; Stacked scales them to the same width and puts them one under another; Grid gives every picture an equal cell of the shape you pick (square, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9 or 9:16). Spacing puts an even gap between pictures and around the edge, filled with the background colour, and the finished image downloads as PNG or JPG at the width you choose.
Side by side and Stacked never crop anything: the whole of every picture is kept, so pictures of different shapes give a row of equal height but different widths. Grid crops instead, because every cell has the same shape: each picture is scaled to fill its cell and the overflow is trimmed equally from both sides, the way a phone's photo grid shows thumbnails. Put the subject in the middle of the photo, or choose a cell shape close to your pictures, if nothing should be cut off. With Auto columns the grid is as square as the number of pictures allows (four pictures make 2×2, nine make 3×3); an incomplete last row is left-aligned.
Use the arrows under each thumbnail to change the order, which runs left to right and top to bottom. Up to 30 pictures can go into one collage. A very long stack is scaled down as a whole to stay under 16,000 pixels tall, a limit some browsers place on a canvas. Everything is drawn on a canvas in your browser; the photos never leave your device.
Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The collage is drawn on a canvas in your browser and saved from there; the photos never leave your device.
Why are parts of my photos cut off?
Only the Grid layout crops: every cell has the same shape, so a picture of a different shape is scaled to fill it and the edges are trimmed evenly. Use Side by side or Stacked to keep every picture whole, or pick a cell shape closer to your photos.
How do I put two pictures side by side?
Add both, choose Side by side, and download. They are scaled to the same height so the row lines up, and nothing is cropped.
How many pictures can I combine?
Up to 30 in one collage. Very large sets in Stacked layout are scaled down as a whole if the image would exceed 16,000 pixels in height.
Which width should I choose?
1200–1600 px suits social media and messages. Choose 2048 or 3000 px for printing or when the pictures are detailed; the file gets larger accordingly.
Is the image quality reduced?
Pictures are scaled to fit the layout with high-quality smoothing. PNG is lossless; JPG is saved at quality 92, which is hard to tell from the original but much smaller.
