Frequently asked questions
- Why not every emoji?
- The set is curated to the most common ~240 across categories so the page stays fast. If you need an obscure emoji, your OS picker or Unicode tables will have it.
- Why do some emojis look different on my device?
- Each platform (Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung) renders emoji with its own font. The character is the same; the design is per-vendor.
- Are flags supported?
- Country flag emojis are included but some platforms (notably Windows) don't render them as flags, showing the two-letter country code instead.
- How is the search matched?
- Case-insensitive substring match across the emoji's name and an extra keyword list (e.g., 'rofl' finds the rolling-on-the-floor-laughing face).
