Anagram Solver / Word Unscrambler
Enter letters and find all English words you can make. Two modes: 'exact anagrams' (uses every letter, same length) — for crosswords or puns; 'sub-anagrams' (any subset of letters) — for Scrabble, Wordscapes, Word Cookies, etc. Results group by length, longest first. Dictionary is the 370K-word `english-words` list (loaded on first use, cached after).
Letters case is ignored. Only A-Z is considered.
Type letters, pick a mode, and click solve.
How to use
- Type your letters (any case).
- Pick anagrams (use all letters) or sub-anagrams (any subset).
- Click solve. First use downloads the dictionary (~1MB).
Frequently asked questions
- Why does the first solve take a moment?
- It downloads a 370K-word English dictionary from a CDN. Cached for the rest of the session — subsequent solves are instant.
- Is this Scrabble-legal?
- Mostly — the dictionary is the dwyl/english-words list, broader than the official Scrabble dictionary (TWL / SOWPODS). Some obscure words may not be valid in tournament play.
- Why no Korean / Japanese / Chinese?
- Anagrams are a Latin-alphabet game — the dictionary is English only. CJK doesn't really have anagrams in the same sense (letter rearrangement).
- What about blanks / wildcards?
- Not supported — type the candidate letters directly. For Scrabble blanks, run multiple searches with each guess for the blank.
