About this tool
ShowHide
Type or paste a post and watch it measured against the length limits of every platform at once — X posts and bios, Instagram captions and bios, TikTok, YouTube titles and descriptions, LinkedIn, Threads, Mastodon, Bluesky, Pinterest and Facebook — with the remaining room shown for each so you can see which platforms your draft already fits. Characters are counted by code point, so an ordinary emoji counts as one; a flag or a family emoji built from several code points counts as more, which is also roughly how the platforms treat them. One caveat worth carrying: X weights CJK characters as two, so a Korean or Japanese post effectively has half of the 280 to work with. Nothing you type is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Are these limits up to date?
Yes as of mid-2026. Platforms occasionally bump their limits — verify on their official help pages before betting a campaign on it.
Do emojis count?
Each emoji counts as one code point here, which matches what most platforms display as the user-visible length. The underlying byte count is higher, but platform limits use code-point counts.
What's the 60-character SEO title?
Google's title display is pixel-based, but 60 characters is the widely-quoted safe approximation. Past that, Google often rewrites or truncates the title in search results.
Why so many limits?
Modern marketing copy gets shipped across many surfaces — having one place to check all of them at once saves clicking through each platform's help docs.
Why does one emoji add several to the count?
The counter measures Unicode code points, and many emoji are built from more than one. A thumbs-up with a skin tone is 2 code points, a country flag is 2 regional-indicator letters, and the four-person family emoji is 7 code points joined by zero-width joiners — all of which a reader sees as a single character. So a post ending in family emoji spends seven of your budget. Platforms differ on which unit they enforce, so treat the count as conservative rather than exact when your text is emoji-heavy.
Does the count match what X actually enforces?
Not for CJK. X applies weighted counting: characters below U+1100 — Latin, digits, most punctuation — cost 1, and everything else costs 2, so Korean, Japanese and Chinese text hits the 280 limit at about 140 characters. This tool counts code points evenly, so a Latin post matches X closely while a CJK post will look like it has roughly twice the headroom it really has. Halve the remaining count for those languages, or paste into the platform for the last word.
