Quarter Calculator
Time
Companies and governments don't all agree on when a year starts: many countries align the fiscal year with the calendar (Jan), the UK government starts in April, Japan most public corporations in April, the US federal government in October. This tool takes a date and a fiscal-year start month and tells you which Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4 it falls in, which half (H1/H2), the fiscal-year label, and how many days you're into the current quarter / have left.

FY label follows the convention that the fiscal year takes the calendar year it ends in (e.g., Apr 2025 – Mar 2026 → FY2026).
How to use
- Pick a date.
- Set the month your fiscal year starts (1 = January is the standard calendar quarter).
- Read the fiscal quarter, fiscal-year label, and timing fields.
Frequently asked questions
- What's FY2026 if I start in April?
- By convention the fiscal-year label is the calendar year that the year ends in. If your FY starts April 2025, that's FY2026 (ending March 2026). Adjust by hand if your org labels it the opposite way.
- How is days-left counted?
- It's whole days between the input date and the last day of the current quarter, inclusive of neither endpoint. So picking the last day of a quarter shows 0 days left.
