Pressure Converter

Convert

Enter a pressure in any common unit and see it in all the others instantly: pascal (Pa), kilopascal (kPa), megapascal (MPa), bar, pounds per square inch (psi), atmospheres (atm) and millimetres of mercury (mmHg, also called Torr). The value is converted to pascals internally and then to every unit, so conversions are exact. Handy for tyre and bike pressures (psi ↔ bar ↔ kPa), weather and altitude (atm, mmHg, hPa), diving, engineering and physics. Negative values work too, for gauge or vacuum pressure. Everything is computed locally in your browser.

How to use

  1. Type a pressure value.
  2. Pick the unit you entered it in.
  3. Read the value in every other unit and copy whichever you need.

Frequently asked questions

How do psi, bar and kPa relate?
1 bar = 100 kPa = 100,000 Pa ≈ 14.504 psi. Car tyres are often given in psi or bar; 1 bar is close to atmospheric pressure at sea level.
What is mmHg / Torr?
Millimetres of mercury (mmHg) is a unit from barometers, used in weather and medicine. It's essentially the same as the Torr: 1 atm = 760 mmHg.
Can I enter negative pressure?
Yes. Negative values represent gauge or vacuum pressure (below the reference), and convert the same way across all units.
Is 1 hPa the same as anything here?
Yes — 1 hectopascal (hPa), the unit used on weather maps, equals 100 Pa, which is 1 millibar. So 1013 hPa ≈ 1 atm.
