Optionally the output opens with the canonical "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet…" lead-in most people recognize. Everything runs locally in your browser — nothing is sent to a server. - What is Lorem Ipsum and where does it come from?
- It's scrambled pseudo-Latin based on a passage from Cicero's "De finibus bonorum et malorum" (45 BC). Printers have used it since the 1500s because its distribution of word lengths looks natural without carrying readable meaning that would distract from the layout.
- Is the generated text real Latin?
- No. The vocabulary comes from the classic passage, but the words are recombined at random, so the result is not grammatical Latin and won't translate into anything meaningful — which is exactly the point of placeholder text.
- Is the text always the same?
- No. Every generation picks words at random: sentences vary between roughly 6 and 14 words and paragraphs between 3 and 6 sentences, so line lengths look realistic instead of repeating one canned block.
- How much can I generate at once?
- Up to 100 paragraphs, 100 sentences, or 100 words per run. If you need more, press Generate again and append the result — each run is independent.
- Is anything sent to a server?
- No. The text is assembled entirely in your browser using local randomness; nothing you generate is uploaded, logged, or stored.
