Online Notepad

Everyday

A simple notepad that opens in any browser tab and remembers what you wrote. Every keystroke is saved to your browser's local storage so a refresh, crash, or laptop sleep doesn't lose your note. Fullscreen mode hides the rest of the page for focused writing. Download the note as a .txt anytime; clear it to start fresh.

  2. Toggle Fullscreen for a distraction-free view.
  3. Download to .txt to keep a copy on disk.
  4. Clear when you're done; the slot is ready for the next note.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the note saved?
In your browser's local storage, scoped to this domain. Nothing is uploaded; nothing is shared with another tab unless you open the same notepad URL in it.
Does it sync across devices?
No — local storage is per browser per device. Use the Download .txt button to move a note manually.
What if I clear my browser data?
The note goes with it. For anything important, hit Download .txt before clearing.
Is there a length limit?
Local storage typically caps around 5–10 MB per origin. Megabyte-long notes (~1M characters) work; full novels start to get slow.
